Rins breaks collarbone in training crash

Moto2™ title contender suffers setback injury; surgery set for Thursday

Paginas Amarillas HP 40 rider Alex Rins has broken his left collarbone in a crash whilst training. The Spanish Moto2™ title contender suffered the accident during routine training exercises on Wednesday, and is set to undergo surgey on Thursday to mend the break. Dr Xavier Mir will perform the operation at the Clínica Dexeus.

Alex Rins: “I was training with a 100cc bike and I fell off…at first it didn’t really hurt much, but when I cooled off the pain started to get worse and we decided to go to the hospital. They discovered a break in my collarbone and they advised me to have surgery to fix it – to be able to be fit for the British GP.”

Rins is expected to join his rivals back on track at Silverstone on the 2nd September.
