It has been a more difficult start to the 2016 season for Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) than the Spaniard is used to, but progress began well in Silverstone at the British GP as Pedrosa found more positive feeling straightaway on the long, demanding 5.9km circuit. Getting in a lot of dry running as the worst of the weather struck Moto2™ instead, Silverstone race lap record holder Pedrosa is happy with his initial feeling in the UK as he looks to get back on the podium; only a tenth behind teammate Marc Marquez after Day 1.
Dani Pedrosa (P9): Today we’ve been quite lucky with the weather as we had two full dry sessions before the rain started. It was exactly what I needed: doing as many laps as possible on this demanding track. We were able to try both the medium and soft rear tyres and that was also good. I think it’s positive to already have this feeling in the dry and we’ll see what weather we get tomorrow and what track conditions we’ll find. In any case, we’ll keep working to further improve our feeling.”
