Iannone prepared for Misano battle

Italian rider looking to bounce straight back from Silverstone DNF

Andrea Iannone heads to Misano after a difficult British Grand Prix in which right forearm pump during the race and a crash when he was fighting for the podium places meant he left Silverstone empty handed.

Iannone and his colleague Andrea Dovizioso are joined again at the Gran Premio TIM di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini by Michele Pirro, with the Ducati Test Team’s third Desmosedici GP. All three riders will be pushing for the strongest results possible at Ducati’s ‘second home race’, especially after a recent test at the Misano track following the race in Brno.

Iannone has taken part in three premier class Grands Prix at Misano, with his best result being a fifth place in the 2014 race.

Andrea Iannone: “I don’t think I will have any problems with my forearm in the Misano race. I haven’t suffered with arm pump since my operation in 2013 and now I’m confidently looking forward to our home race. The weather conditions should be better than in England and this will allow us to make constant progress during the weekend.

“I think the Desmosedici GP can be competitive at this track, two weeks ago we had a test there that gave good results. It’s true that we didn’t have any of our main competitors to compare with, but the feeling was very good and I think we have a good chance of doing well in the race.”
