Marquez quickest in Warm Up despite crash

Rossi close behind as race day gets underway

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) topped Warm Up at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, just staying clear of Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi in cooler conditions in the earlier hours of Sunday. Marquez also suffered a minor front end crash that saw him get a scooter escort back to the pits.

Ducati Team duo Michele Pirro and Andrea Dovizioso were P3 and P4, with reigning champion and pole record-breaker Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) locking out the top 5.

Friday's fastest Pol Espargaro (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) was sixth, ahead of the two Team Suzuki Ecstar riders of Silverstone victor Maverick Viñales and Aleix Espargaro. Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) was P9, with Hector Barbera (Avintia Racing) completing the top ten.

During the session it was also announced that Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider and Assen winner Jack Miller has withdrawn from the event due to his right hand injury sustained at the Austrian GP.
