Miller: “I feel good for my home race”

Best ever qualifying for the Australian sees him line up P5 at home

Jack Miller (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) has had a strong weekend at his home GP so far, and the Australian was a direct entrant to Q2 after navigating through the tough conditions on Friday and Saturday morning. In the final QP session, Miller was on for a provisional front row – but was just pushed down the timesheets at the last breath by Pol Espargaro (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) and Aleix Espargaro (Team Suzuki Ecstar); ending the session in P5. Happy with the position but frustrated by an error on his fast lap, the middle of the second row is still ‘Jackass’’ best qualifying result to date in the premier class.

Jack Miller (P5): "It’s a good starting position but I’m not totally satisfied because I could have done a better time if I had not run onto the kerb on the exit of the final corner.  There was some water there and I had a lot of wheelspin and lost a lot of time. But I feel good for my home race, I’m starting a lot closer to the front than I usually do. The weather is always unpredictable so you can’t believe the forecast of a dry race but I’m ready for anything. Wait and see.”
