Danilo Petrucci (Octo Pramac Racing) has a 2017 specification Ducati for the coming season, and the Italian has been getting his first tastes of the machine as testing gets into gear. P14 on Day 3 at Sepang International Circuit, the Italian did a best lap of 2:00.310 as he continued to make progress – despite a small, no consequence crash that hindered track time slightly due to the Italian only having one GP17 machine in Malaysia.
The next test sees the Italian back on track at Phillip Island – scene of a 2016 injury – as work continues to prepare the 2017 season.
DP09: “There were some small issues with the bike but this is a normal thing. We knew to come to Malaysia to do as much development work. I thank the team for the great job done by solving every problem. I wish I had the chance to try a time-attack this morning but it is not so important. I'm happy because I lapped consistently at mid day in difficult conditions and I had positive sensations. I can not wait to be at Philip Island now.”
