MotoGP™ unites passion and payments with Tribul Mastercard

New agreement sees the Championship with a new payment partner

Tags MotoGP, 2017

A new payment solution provider has chosen MotoGP™ as its partner to launch the brand to the public. The innovative Tribul Mastercard payment vehicle combines a physical card with an app that promises to provide greater speed, control and security of financial transactions.

The MotoGP™ Tribul Mastercard product will provide extraordinary rewards for an ordinary spend. The card can be used online and via chip and pin or contactless technology for everyday spending and will engage fans with their passion for the sport by rewarding them with incentives linked to the championship, from VIP access and money-can’t-buy experiences to merchandise and discounts.

Fans will even have the opportunity to upload their own MotoGP™ image to the front of their card to create a fully personalised product that can be worn with an accompanying lanyard at race events for easy payments and access to exciting benefits.

Dorna Sports has completed a five-year agreement with Tribul Mastercard, which sees the card become the MotoGP™ Supplier of Payment Solutions until at least the end of the 2021 season.

Speaking about the partnership, Tribul CEO, A. Wayne Johnson, said: “We’re excited to be launching the Tribul Mastercard product with MotoGP™ and hope to work with some of the sport’s other partners for the benefit of the fans. The passion, speed, control, safety and innovation that the sport is renowned for, make the championship the perfect fit for the Tribul Mastercard payment vehicle and app.

“We see huge opportunities for MotoGP™ fans to have a branded payment solution they’re proud to have in their wallet or pocket, and in return we’re building a significant fan engagement programme that will reward cardholders and bring them closer to their passion for the sport just by using the card for their normal everyday spend. Plus, the innovative technology will push the important safety message of MotoGP™ by enabling cardholders to turn their card on and off with the swipe of an app to protect against fraudulent transactions.”

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO Dorna Sports, said: “I’m very happy to collaborate with a company with such an innovative and advanced payment system, whilst fans that have this card can enjoy the sport they love even more. Furthermore, with the announcement of the Tribul Mastercard Payment Solutions as title sponsor of Misano, all 18 events on the calendar this year once again have a title sponsor.”

Further information about the new MotoGP™ Tribul Mastercard will be available later this season at race events and across the championship’s social and digital channels. Fans can register interest early for information on card benefits and availability at www.TribulMastercard.com
