Oliveira: “Moto2 is made of very small details”

Portuguese rider takes another podium in Jerez – but doesn’t yet feel 100%

Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) turned a second row start into another podium in Jerez, making it twice in 2017 that the new KTM Moto2™ chassis has already been on the rostrum.

Not yet perfect but now a consistent force to be reckoned with, the devil is in the detail for Oliveira as the grid prepare to face down Le Mans and a newly re-surfaced track.

Miguel Oliveira, P3: “It was a quite positive weekend overall. We started 4th, made a really bad start and it was hard to pick up the pace at the beginning. Anyway, further in the race I felt quite good. I could catch Pasini and I knew the podium was close so I was going to try for sure, and we did it. I’m happy to close this weekend with 3rd position.

"This category is made of very small details and these are not 100% yet, even myself I have some things to improve on my riding style, so we will just keep working and whatever happens is a big bonus. Now it’s another Grand Prix in Le Mans with the new asphalt; we will see how the bike behaves there and keep working hard.”
