Rossi: “I hope to be competitive in Assen”

VR46 hoping to move back up the order at the Dutch GP

It was a tough Catalan GP for the ‘Doctor’ as he crossed the line in P8, but Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) had a more positive test the Monday after the race – as well as further private testing thereafter. Trying a new chassis and a host of other different solutions at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the nine-time World Champion now wants to compare the results at the TT Circuit Assen as he bids to get back in the fight at the front.

It couldn’t be a better place to do so – with nine victories at the track for the Italian, seven of which have been in the premier class.

Valentino Rossi: “I‘m happy to go to Assen, especially after the two days of testing we did in Barcelona following such a bad race. During the test we have tried some interesting solutions and now I want to try them at another track to see if we‘re going in the right direction. The Netherlands is always a great weekend, because the Assen circuit is very nice. I hope to be competitive in Assen because I would like to make it a good race.”
