Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) took over at the top of the Brno test in the final few minutes, keeping his best until last to pip Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) to P1. The rider from Tavullia did 52 laps on Monday with a best of 1:55.162.
Happy with the day – especially after a long drought without going quickest in testing – and positive overall, Rossi was also a fan of the new fairing, which could be used soon in race trim.
Valentino Rossi, P1: “I’m happy with the test because it came after a weekend where I was competitive in all conditions. It makes me happy to finish the test on top, too, because it’s a long time since it’s happened! That’s not important, the testing itself is, but it’s satisfying. I like the new fairing and it looks great – maybe we’ll use it in some races.”
