McPhee denied a final push in qualifying

Rain and grip issues interrupt the British Talent Team on Saturday

John McPhee was left down the timesheets after qualifying for the Australian GP, with rain coming down to interrupt the final part of the session as many were about to prepare a final push and the Scot having struggled for grip.

After a much improved morning session well inside the top ten in P6, the BTT rider is now facing down the race at Phillip Island from P25 - and will be looking to move through quickly. With some other riders similarly 'out of position', it's sure to be another thriller in the lightweight class.

Lights go out at 13:00 (GMT +11). Tune in as McPhee fights back to the front.

John McPhee, P25: "Things started off a lot better today. Improving the bike a lot overnight I managed to finish Free Practice 3 in sixth position and much closer to the front. Unfortunately in qualifying it just didn't come together. I did plenty consistent laps that weren't far off the pace but when it came down to getting that one qualifying lap together I just didn't have the grip to push any harder. We have some things to look over tonight but with nothing to lose I'll be giving it my all in the race tomorrow to move forward."
