Dovi future: “Maybe there will be news this weekend”

The Ducati rider is yet to sign a contract for 2019, but that could change during the French GP

Prior to this weekend’s HJC Helmets Grand Prix de France, Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) hinted that his MotoGP™ future could be resolved as early as this weekend, with talks advancing between him and the Bologna factory.

Rumors had circulated around the paddock about Dovizioso declining Ducati’s original offer earlier in the season. However, it now seems the two are close to agreeing a deal that will see ‘DesmoDovi’ stay with the Italian factory.

“I think we are a bit closer than before,” explained the number 04. “There are still some details remaining. My manager arrives to tonight and they will work during the weekend and I hope they can fix it. Maybe there will be news this weekend, why not?”

If there are no further updates at Le Mans, could we hear confirmation about Dovizioso’s future at his and Ducati’s home round at Mugello?
