Miller: “I cut my finger cooking…but my shoulder is better!”

Jack Miller (Alma Pramac Racing) arrives at the HJC Helmets Grand Prix de France on a roll, having taken seven consecutive top ten finishes – including a fourth in Argentina after starting from his first ever premier class pole. It had looked before like a shoulder injury ahead of the Americas GP could dent his form but not so, as the ‘Jackass’ took ninth there and then bettered it again with sixth in Spain. Looking ahead to France, the upward curve could be set to continue.

“My shoulder feels better again than in Jerez,” says Miller. “I had a good week training, and stayed out of trouble…” All trouble? Not quite, but no training accidents or incidents have befallen the Queenslander. “I cut my finger cooking,” he admits - chopping a courgette no less, “but the rest is all good!”

That it is, with Miller also praising the work they did during the Official Test after the Spanish GP – and looking forward to racing in France, which he thinks could be a good match for man and machine.

“Everything feels pretty good, we had a solid little test on the Monday after Jerez and found some rear grip, so I’m hoping that’s going to improve here - especially in the race. Making passes should be a little bit easier. I’m looking forward to getting out here, it’s a track I’ve normally done well at in the past and a track I like a lot. I think it should suit the Ducati well too, with the braking and accelerating.”
