Andrea Marinelli, owner of Marinelli furniture, passed away last night aged 46. Marinelli sponsors and lends its name to the Marinelli Snipers Team, race winners in Moto3™ and debutants in the intermediate class with Romano Fenati this season.
The Marinelli Snipers Team paid tribute:
“He was our first supporter. He was the one who protected us. He guided us.” The Italian had also established a strong friendship with Fenati during their collaboration. “They had an immediate feeling: both hot blooded, direct and true people. They had a no compromise relationship which was good for both, even if together they were ‘dangerous’.
“Having a season like we had last year was possible thanks to Andrea. With him, we got important results and, guided by his force, we launched a new ambitious project. ‘Together we win’ was his motto, and that became ours.”
Andrea Marinelli leaves behind his wife Simona and his son Alessandro. Dorna and the MotoGP™ community extend their condolences to Marinelli’s family, friends, team and colleagues.
