The MotoGP™ Legend picks out 3 key talking points from the opening day in Montmelo

1999 500cc World Champion Alex Criville picks out three key points from the opening day at the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya.

1. Lorenzo in the driving seat

Criville picks out Jorge Lorenzo's (Ducati Team) imperious Friday form in Barcelona: "Lorenzo already has his future decided, he has things very clear. He’s back in the driver’s seat and has the Ducati under control and wants to leave the Bologna factory winning races."

2. Marquez wants home soil victory

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) didn’t have the easiest of opening days, but the fellow Spaniard isn’t writing him off for victory come Sunday. “Marquez is racing at home and wants to add a victory to his tally, putting him ahead of his rivals.”

3. Risks could be taken

The Spaniard points out that this round is a vital one in the Championship, and the home riders could end up taking risks to try and get the best result possible. "It's a pivotal moment for the Championship. The riders aren’t going to be conservative and could end up taking risks. They won’t hold back, especially those at home."
