Schroetter renews contract with Dynavolt Intact GP

The German has signed a new two-year deal with the Moto2™ team

During the Motul TT Assen and shortly before the team’s home Grand Prix at the Sachsenring, Dynavolt Intact GP and Marcel Schroetter have been able to agree on a new two-year contract.

Schroetter has been impressive in the Moto2™ World Championship in 2018 and currently occupies ninth place in the overall standings, securing a best finish of fourth so far this season. The Dynavolt Intact GP team will continue with both the German and current teammate Xavi Vierge in 2019, making it one of the most formidable partnership’s in the intermediate class.

Schroetter commented: “First of all I would like to thank Jürgen [Lingg], Stefan [Keckeisen], Wolfang [Kuhn] and Michael [Kories - Manager]. I'm pretty happy with the decision. Especially after the last three races, which went quite well for me, there were requests from some other teams. But it was always clear to me that, as long as I compete in Moto2, there is no reason to switch to another team. Intact GP has the base close to my home. I just feel very good in the team and have a great crew around me, we have the best material available in Moto2 right now and it would be a mistake to give up everything that we have built up. That's why I decided to continue with Intact GP and I'm pretty happy about it.”

Dynavolt Intact GP Team Manager Jürgen Lingg said: “For us it was very important to extend the contract with Marcel. It is all the better that he just wants to continue with us as we want to continue with him. Marcel is a good guy and he is part of our Intact GP family. You can clearly see his potential and of course we want to use this together. I am sure that in the future we will be able to achieve good results with him and also with Xavi. We are glad that there will be no change in our rider pairing for next year and that we could fix this before our home race at the Sachsenring. This brings a certain consistency into the team and we can concentrate on our daily business again.”
