Morbidelli went down heavily in FP4 and suffered a fracture in his third metacarpal, with the Italian now having to go through a series of fitness tests on Thursday before being allowed to head on out track at the Sachsenring.
"The injury is improving," commented the reigning Moto2™ World Champion. "I will be in Germany, I will do the tests before the GP and the doctors will decide if I will be able to get on track.”
The Sachsenring is a track Morbidelli has had success on in the past, including a victory last season, so he'll be even more determined to return to action and continue his positive rookie season on the Honda. “Last year I won for the sixth time on that track and became the leader in the standings, so I have good memories."
