Rabat: “I feel much better”

Spaniard is present in Valencia and gave an injury update to motogp.com pitlane reporter Simon Crafar during FP3

After his horrific accident at Silverstone - which resulted in multiple right femur fractures - Tito Rabat (Reale Avintia Racing) was back in the Grand Prix paddock at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana as he prepares to jump on board his Ducati machine for the first 2019 Official Tests.

We should be seeing the 2014 Moto2™ World Champion returning to track action on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st of November in Valencia and speaking to motogp.com pitlane reporter Simon Crafar, the Spaniard gave an update on his ever-improving condition:

“I feel much better. These last days, I recovered pretty fast, but it’s still not enough to make a race,” explained Rabat. “And it’s important to finish well the recuperation! But I feel good for the Tuesday Test, without pressure. If it’s dry, I can start to do some laps.”

The weather in Valencia has seen rainfall all weekend and Rabat shed some light on what it is like to ride a MotoGP™ bike in these sorts of conditions: “These conditions are difficult, as you can see many crashes. The asphalt isn’t the best for the rain, even if the grip improved last year… But the temperature is very low, so you have to be very focused.”

Rabat’s focus now turns to 2019 as he aims to get himself 100% fit over the winter break. Let’s hope we can see the Reale Avintia Racing rider spin some laps on Tuesday and Wednesday for the Official post-GP Valencia Tests next week – catch both day’s live on motogp.com.
