Michelin announced as title sponsor for Aragon

The 2019 Aragon GP will see MotoGP™'s official tyre supplier take top billing

Dorna Sports is delighted to announce MotoGP™ tyre supplier Michelin as the title sponsor for the 2019 Aragon GP at MotorLand Aragon. The event, which takes place from the 20th to 22nd September, will therefore be named the Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragon.

Michelin have been the official tyre supplier to the premier class of Grand Prix motorcycle racing since 2016 and the era has proved one of the closest and most competitive in history, with records routinely broken. This title sponsor agreement makes for another important addition to the relationship between Michelin and MotoGP™, cementing further shared success both on track and off.

Matthew Ye, Senior Vice President Business Line 2 Wheels Worldwide, says: “Since the foundation of the Michelin Group, Motorsport is in our DNA. The purpose of our investment in motorsport is to take its technologies forward and provide our consumers with the very best products. A number of Michelin hypersport tyre ranges benefiting from the winning technologies will be launched in 2020, including our new track day products MICHELIN Cup2 & MICHELIN Slick2.  Our involvement with the ‘Gran Premio Michelin® de Aragon 2019’ as title sponsor provides us with a first class platform to address biking enthusiasts across the world & reveal our new offers.”

Pau Serracanta, Managing Director at Dorna Sports, adds: “Michelin is one of our most important partners in MotoGP™, so it’s great news to see the Michelin name take top billing once again and, in 2019, do so for the first time at MotorLand Aragon. A spectacular and unique track, it’s always a fantastic weekend and we’re delighted to further our partnership with Michelin at such an event.”
