Rins quickest so far at the Barcelona test

Suzuki man 0.017 ahead of Catalan GP winner Marquez as the premier class go testing in Barcelona

As of 13:10 local time, Team Suzuki Ecstar’s Alex Rins is the quickest man so far at the official MotoGP™ Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya test, a 1:39.618 putting him 0.017 clear of Championship leader and Catalan GP race winner Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team).

The work doesn’t stop for Marquez, the seven-time World Champion has three HRC machines at his disposal today in Barcelona, with Michelin bringing three different types of rear tyres for the riders to try. These are: a hard rear compound, a rear casing specifically designed for Thailand and Austria, plus a new rear casing that is aimed at increasing performance. The riders have one each of this tyre in a soft or medium.

24 riders are out putting in the laps today, with the top 15 currently split by just 0.7 seconds. Keep up with the lap times with Live Timing and keep an eye out for videos and an end of day report later on.
