School’s out for summer – but not for test riders

Three weeks off awaits most of the MotoGP™ paddock, however, some factory test riders will be laying down the rubber in July

The chequered flag at the HJC Helmets Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland signalled the start of a welcomed three-week for the MotoGP™ riders, but not everyone will be able taking some time away from the asphalt in July.

As work continues for the second half of 2019 and the start of next season, test riders will have no time to rest as they continue to lay the groundwork for their full-time counterparts. On the 9th, 10th and 11th of July, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing test riders Dani Pedrosa and Mika Kallio will be in Brno, before only Pedrosa heads to KTM’s home circuit, the Red Bull Ring in Austria, on the 22nd and 23rd of July.

Ducati Team’s Michele Pirro is joined by Aprilia Racing Team Gresini’s Bradley Smith and HRC test rider Stefan Bradl at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on 16th, 17th and 18th July, with Sylvain Guintoli also testing on the 17th and 18th. The Frenchman will be at the Twin Ring Motegi with Team Suzuki Ecstar for a couple of days.

The MotoGP™ paddock will be back in full swing on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th August when the Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky kicks off the second half on the 2019 season.
