In a curtailed first practice session at the Gran Premio Iveco de Aragón the Moto3™ riders struggled with damp conditions at the Spanish circuit, with Estrella Galicia 0'0 rider Miguel Oliveira crashing but still finishing at the top of the timesheet, ahead of Luis Salom and Jonas Folger.
