Miller: "All I could do was wait and hope!"

Some frustrations behind the straight-line speed of Lorenzo - but another solid top ten

Jack Miller (Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) has a set mission in 2017: finish in the top ten. The Aussie Assen 2016 winner did that for the third time on the bounce in Texas, making for an impressive start to the season.

Moving up from twelfth on the grid to hassle Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) for much of the race and at the mercy of the Ducati's straight-line speed, Miller then lost some front feeling and eventually crossed the line in tenth - just ahead of Jonas Folger (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) for another solid finish.

Jack Miller, P10: “I had good speed from the start of the race but it is just so difficult to overtake, I was losing so much time off the slow corners and it is not easy to make it up in the braking zones. All I could do was wait and hope Lorenzo made a mistake and then towards the end of the race I lost some feeling with front. It was another solid result, I got some points with a top ten finish and learnt a lot.”
