Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) had a busy second day at the Phillip Island test, putting in a huge number of laps and completing two long runs. With a best lap of 1:29.309, the gap to Maverick Viñales’ P1 was over four tenths – but the rider from Cervera concentrated on rhythm, information gathering and avoiding errors.

MM93, P2: “It was a busy day and I’m a bit tired, but it’s what we had planned for today and we completed it. With my engineers we decided to do a lot of laps and test out a few things – so I concentrated on riding in a constant rhythm and avoiding mistakes. At the end of the day I also did two long runs, to try two different electronic settings, and that gave us a lot of information. In any case, as I said yesterday we are still missing a little because I’m not comfortable at 100%, but we’re working well. The two long runs should help us say where we can make a step forward. I also tried a new front tyre and tomorrow we’ll try a rear because today we didn’t have time.”
