Pedrosa keeps target in sight as MotoGP™ hits midway point

Consistent results give Repsol Honda Team rider Dani Pedrosa confidence as riders prepare for the unknowns of an old track, with a new face

As the Sachsenring prepares to celebrate its 20th successive year on the GP calendar, Dani Pedrosa and his team at Repsol Honda weigh up race tactics vs. a new track surface. It would seem though, that the statistics are on his side. Since the introduction of the four-stroke MotoGP™ class in 2002, Honda have been the most successful manufacturer at the circuit with eleven wins, including the last seven years.

Pedrosa currently has nine career podiums, including six wins, and one pole position at the German track, but with his current spot in the Championship standings as 5th, at -28, the Spanish rider will need to use every bit of his experience at the Sachsenring to make his advance.

Dani Pedrosa: "Sachsenring is one of my favourite tracks on the calendar and we are going there ready to prepare for the race as best as possible. I honestly do not know what to expect from the resurfacing of the track as it’s difficult to make predictions before getting there but I hope to have a good feeling with the bike and the tyres. We know as a team we are working well together and doing things right so we will continue with this mentality and try to understand how to make the tyres work better in every situation. The Championship is still very close and I look forward to getting back on my bike on Friday and fighting for a good result on Sunday."
