Lorenzo diagnosed with fissure of the first rib

Repsol Honda rider suffered the injury in a crash at the Qatar GP and will take three to four weeks to recover

After a CAT scan, Repsol Honda Team and Jorge Lorenzo have confirmed via social media that the number 99 rider has suffered a fissure to the first rib on the right side.

The five-time World Champion suffered a nasty highside at Turn 6 in FP3 and despite being declared fit for the rest of the weekend, a scan on Tuesday revealed his most recent injury setback.

The injury will take three to four weeks to heal, with Lorenzo vowing to fight at the Argentina GP, which takes place in just over two weeks’ time.
