Both riders of Team Repsol YPF Honda will start tomorrow´s race from the third row of the grid. High temperatures forced the 500 riders to work extra hard this afternoon, testing different tyre compounds that offer good grip for fast lap times and still enough endurance to last the entire race. Tohru Ukawa in ninth position was once again the fastest rider in Team Repsol YPF Honda, but despite all his efforts he wasn´t able to move up to the second row of the grid. His team-mate Alex Crivillé will continue his work in tomorrow´s warm-up session, trying everything to find a set-up that makes it possible to fight for the podium in the second Grand Prix on Spanish territory.

Tohru Ukawa – 9th - 1´46.15926 laps, 123 Km

´Physically I´m fine, there is nothing that bothers me from yesterday´s crash. A starting position in the third row is certainly not what I expected, but my pace is good and I think that I can ride a good race tomorrow. I like this circuit more than any other one in the championship, I finished second in the last two years on the 250 on this track, and it is not out of reach to finish on the podium again tomorrow. We have some set-up work left to do, but I hope that we can sort everything out in tomorrow´s warm-up session. Due to the high temperatures, we had some tyre trouble: With a hard compound, I don´t have enough grip and I lose confidence, and with a softer compound, I have enough grip but I´m running the risk that the tyre won´t last the race distance. But I think this problem is the same for everyone.´

Alex Crivillé – 11th - 1´46.65023 laps, 109 Km

´I´m one second slower than I was in 1998 on this track, and I don´t quite understand what´s happening.I´m disappointed with the result, we have changed the entire set-up of the motorcycle but we still didn´t find a good solution. Yesterday I didn´t feel perfectly well physically, but I was fine today, and still practice didn´t go the way I hoped. We didn´t manage to eliminate our rear-end patter, I don´t have enough traction and the motorcycle moves around a lot. We tried everything to find solutions, changed the geometry and the weight distribution of the bike, but we went backwards instead of ahead. I have full trust in my team, and I still hope that tomorrow, in the warm-up, we´re going to find a solution.´
