Roberto Rolfo #44 (Safilo Oxydo Race) 7° in 1´37´757Seventh time, second row and once again first of all the privateers – this is today´s achievement of Roberto Rolfo, who made sure of a good starting position in case of rain in tomorrow´s final practice session:

´I pushed to get a good time under my belt, but at the same time we worked hard to improve the set-up of my bike. The main problem for me is at the entrance of the corners: The bike still doesn´t turn the way I want it to. As far as the engine goes, we are closing in on the ideal setting that will hopefully give me just this little bit more acceleration that I need. The track doesn´t have a lot of grip, but I still like it a lot.´

Roberto Locatelli #15 (MS Eros Ramazzotti Racing) 11° in 1´38´223To qualify for the third row is more than anything another small injection of confidence for the 125 cc champion, who has gone through a crisis in the middle of the championship, and who won the 125 race last year here in Valencia:

´Today, we spent most of the time to sort out our tyre choice for the race, because if it rains tomorrow and we haven´t done this job, we will run into a deep crisis on race day. Maybe other riders did the same thing, but I can say that if I had went out with a soft compound in the end, I could have scraped another half of a second off my best time. I´m still happy though, considering that we still had some set-up problems, and we even had to go backwards when we didn´t make progress with some of the things we tried´.

Franco Battaini #21 (MS Eros Ramazzotti Racing) 10° in 1´38´166The rider from Brescia also improved his performance this afternoon:

´I thought that I would be able to ride below 1´37´, but we had a problem with our tyre choice which was a considerable setback. Today, we wanted to get sorted for the race. I think I can improve if it doesn´t rain, because I feel strong and confident.´
