KATOH VERY CLOSE TO POLE, ALZAMORA ON THIRD ROW

RIO - He clocked the fastest lap of morning´s free practice and he missedpole position by just 41 thousands in the second qualifying session whichhas decided the starting grid for Brazilian Grand Prix. Daijiro Katohfinally classified second after leading almost the entire official afternoon´s practice, but could not avoid Nieto´s following, who as already happenedin past, took advantage of Telefonica MoviStar Honda Japanese rider´sslipstream to get the pole. Daijiro is anyway just a handful of thousandsbehind the Spaniard and has only one aim for tomorrow: to win.Less fortunate was Spanish team mate Alzamora who in difficulty on the bumpyasphalt of Jacarepagua circuit was not able to find the right set up. Emiliogot eleventh fastest and will start tomorrow from third row.

Daijiro Katoh #74 - Honda NSR 250
Best lap: 1.53.860
Position: 2nd

´I´m not completely satisfied of today´s qualifying despite second place. It´s not funny to have Nieto staying behind all the time to clock fastest laptime. It can be dangerous.Anyway, tomorrow it will be last race of theseason and my last one in 250 class as well, so I just want to win. Mymachine is ok, so I´m confident to do well´.

Emilio Alzamora #7 - Honda NSR 250
Position: 11th

´We still have problems with the set up and for sure the irregularity of theasphalt does not help at all. I can´t feel comfortable in riding here. We´lltry other solutions in tomorrow´s warm up and for sure it will be veryimportant to take a good start. The third row is quite ok anyway, I willjust have not to lose positions´.
