`Valentino, the Yellow Giant`, a book dedicated to the life and times of Rossi

At the tender age of just twenty-two multi World Champion, Valentino Rossi, now even has a book recounting both his life and sporting achievements after publisher, Apach Editions, released 'Valentino Rossi, the Yellow Giant'. It's heralded as a book which is as funny, surprising and with as much character as the Italian himself.

Written by Betrand Bussillet and illustrated with photographs from Yves Jamotte, and from his agency Sports Photography, the biography of Rossi is the first a new collection dedicated to sporting personalities. The book offers a slightly different portrait of the Italian than normal. Of course the playful, jokey Valentino appears, but a more intimate and sensitive side to the star is revealed. Through a compilation of statements collected from Rossi by Bussillet and from the photos of Jamotte, a charismatic individual marked by talent, humour and openness is revealed.

The innovative lay-out of the book lends itself to the outstanding black-and-white and colour images from Yves Jamotte, a Belgiam photographer who has covered the World Championship for many years. Rossi reflects on a multitude of topics including his father, Graziano, as well as his fans, his relationship with fear, his desire for victory, Italy, women, travelling and of course his rivalry with Max Biaggi.
