Colin McRae makes appearance at the Montmelo circuit in Catalunya

Keen bike fan Colin McRae put in an appearance at the Circuit of Catalunya yesterday to meet young British rider, Chaz Davies, who the Scot has just signed to his management agency. Motograndprix.com caught up with the former World Rally Champion.

Motograndprix.com: You´re a big bike fan, how do you think the inaugural season of the MotoGP category might pan out?

Colin McRae: Not a clue really! Obviously it´s an exciting time, it´s probably going to take a year to let it all settle down. The guys that get it right at the beginning are of course going to be at a big advantage, but it´s great for the sport and certainly an interesting time. We´ll just have to sit back and see what happens.

MGP: You were actually planning to have a ride on a bike here weren´t you?

CM: Yeah, we had organised that, so I´m a bit annoyed! I was still thinking about trying it but I thought my injury (suffered at the Rally of Corsica) is so painful at the moment that if I did fall off I don´t think I could bear it any longer!

MGP: What can we expect from Chaz Davies, and how can you help him?

CM: Obviously he´s very young and is just starting out, but he´s got great potential and we´ll just have to wait and see. He´s a nice guy, he´s very committed and he´s got it all infront of him which is the main thing. It´s just a question of getting the right deals for him and pointing him in the right direction, and just being there to give him a bit of support in the business side of it.
