Checa enjoys switch from two wheels to four

Marlboro Yamaha rider, Carlos Checa, took advantage of the recent World Rally Championship stage in his native Catalunya to discover life as rally co-driver. The Spaniard was allowed by the Marlboro Mitsubishi Ralliart team to board the Lancer Evolution with driver François Delecour, during the shakedown stage of the fourth round of the World Rally Championship.

Checa was clearly impressed by the car´s capabilities after the fifteen minute spin. The Mitsubishi vehicle has an advantage of some 100 bhp on his more habitual mode of transport, the M1 Yamaha 4-stroke, and its turbo-compressed engine ensures excellent performance.

´It was one of the best experiences of my life,´ beamed the Spaniard. ´However, it´s impossible to compare a bike and a rally car. I think I need to recover from the whole thing before I can give my impressions! Everything went so quickly… the speed at which everything passes you by is particularly impressive. It was fantastic, a really great experience´.
