MotoGP World Championship riders presented in Suzuka

The riders who will take part in the MotoGP World Championship were presented today to the Japanese public at the Suzuka Circuit. The opening ceremony took place on the eve of the first day of qualifying for the SKYY VODKA Grand Prix of Japan.

The ceremony was divided into two parts. Firstly the riders entered the circuit via the main grandstand staircase and saluted the Japanese fans from a podium mounted on the start-finish straight.

Later, after an address by Suzuka Circuit president Kensuke Fukasu, the riders paraded down the straight aboard their motorcycles. The ceremony closed with a spectacular firework display.

This was the first time an opening ceremony has been held ahead of the first race of the season.
