Jerry Burgess arrives at Suzuka in time for title defence

Valentino Rossi´s Chief Mechanic, Jeremy Burgess, has arrived in Japan in time for the start of the Italian's title defence after missing the IRTA tests at Suzuka last weekend with a bizarre injury. The Australian sliced his foot open with a chainsaw whilst cutting timber at home and required 28 stitches to repair the wound.

His star pupil didn't seem to miss the revered tuner, though, clocking the best lap time of the test aboard the 4 stroke Honda RC211V. However, Burgess' experience will be vital to the 22 year old in his quest for consecutive titles, having previously helped Mick Doohan to the number one plate no fewer than five times during the 1990´s.
