Chaz Davies assesses the start to his Grand Prix career

It´s been an eventful start to my first season in the World Championship, but to be honest I´m slightly disappointed with how things have gone so far. We´ve been having problems with the bike, and have yet to really find the best base set-up from which to work from. The power delivery also isn´t right yet, and so it´s been difficult to challenge in the races so far. I´m glad to have qualified for all of them, but as a racer you want to be fighting at the front end of the field.

It´s great to be competing at this level, and I wouldn't swap it, and with each race it´s been getting easier to adjust to the new environment. Obviously there are some great riders in the championship, but having been out there on the track with them now, I feel confident that I can really hold my own, and that´s why the problems with our machinery have been so frustrating. I want the chance to show what I can do, and the performance of new riders like Mika Kallio shows what is possible.

The next round of the championship is in France at the Le Mans circuit. It´s another track that I have not raced at before, so it will be important to learn as the weekend goes on. Luckily the circuit is on the MotoGP Playstation game so I´ve been able to do a bit of practise on that which helps! We travel out to France on Wednesday, and I´m hoping that this time out we can really begin to show our potential and fight to get in the points.
