New parts available for the Yamahas of Biaggi and Checa in Mugello

Max Biaggi and Carlos Checa will have new material for their Yamaha M1 prototypes available in Mugello this weekend. The Marlboro Yamaha team riders, who both performed excellently at the last round in Le Mans, will each have new parts for their respective machines. The most important of these will be a new chassis. Team Director, Davide Brivio, hopes that the team will continue their recent progress in Italy. ´Max and Carlos will each have a new chassis that they will test for the first time on the Friday. After that we will decide how we´re going to proceed for the rest of the weekend.´

The fact that neither rider has been able to test the new part before the Gran Premio Cinzano d´Italia means that both will initially begin the race weekend in Mugello with two different bikes to test; one of the same specification with which they competed in Le Mans, and the other incorporating the new chassis which, depending on its development, will be used in Sunday' s race.

Brivio is satisfied with the work carried out by his riders. ´Both Max and Carlos have provided the engineers with a lot of information and this has helped Yamaha react quickly and efficiently to the problems we were suffering with at the start of the year. At the factory they are working at an incredible rate, and we are all very grateful for their efforts. I hope that Le Mans will prove to be the turning point in our championship campaign.´
