Intense week of MotoGP activity continues around Europe

The relentless battle for speed and seconds continues around Europe this week, as MotoGP teams continue their exhausting development programmes in the wake of another gruelling Grand Prix at Mugello. Suzuki riders Sete Gibernau and Kenny Roberts stayed on for an extra day at the Italian circuit, whilst HRC and Yamaha packed up their trucks and headed in opposite directions, to Spain and the Czech Republic.

Repsol Honda riders Valentino Rossi and Tohru Ukawa lap at Brno on Tuesday and Wednesday with the RC211V machines which carried them both to podium positions on Sunday. Rossi, who took his fourth victory from five races, said: `The championship is very long and we need to stay concentrated. The other teams are getting closer.´

Marlboro Yamaha pair Max Biaggi and Carlos Checa will be in Valencia on Thursday and Friday for further tests with the new chassis which debuted with second and fourth place in Italy. `We´ve taken another step forward,´ said YZR-M1 project leader Ichiro Yoda after the race. `In Valencia we'll work to get the best out of the new chassis and hopefully get an even better result at the next races.´
