Naoki Matsudo aiming to maintain point-scoring run

Naoki Matsudo is one of the unsung performers of the quarter-litre class, the Dark Dog Yamaha Kurz rider rarely receives the coverage of some of his more celebrated rivals and yet Matsudo has made a most consistent start to the season, and remains one of only five riders to have picked up points in every round this term.

This campaign is the Japanese rider´s third full season in Grand Prix racing, and the 28 year-old now feels at home in the class. ´This is my third year now, and I got some good results last year. That has given me confidence this time around, and also means I have a good idea of the set-ups I need at the different circuits.´

Matsudo is eager to keep up his run of point scoring finishes this weekend in Barcelona, a string of results which now stretches back to Assen last year, the best record in the category along with factory riders Fonsi Nieto and Roberto Rolfo. ´I like the Montmelo circuit, and will be concentrating on my own race. I want to try and score in every round this season, and finish higher in the championship than last year´.
