Roberto Locatelli looks back on the first half of the season

The 2002 season hasn´t gone that well to be honest - I expected to be fourth at this point of the season, not sixth. But after all, the results have matched my expectations in most of the races.

I haven´t planned to go on holiday anywhere, as I live in Monte-Carlo, so I´m not very far from the sea. I will enjoy my free time to hang out with friends, as I have a lot of them but don´t see them often.

I keep on training, to be fit when the Championship resumes. I love the Brno track - I won there back in 2000 when I was racing in the 125 class. The problem is that this track doesn´t forgive any technical mistake and you have to find a very good set-up if you want to be quick and comfortable during the race. $$$I have to admit that the kitted bike had a great start this season, but as the races went by, the official bikes improved and it´s now very hard to fight against riders like Marco Melandri and Fonsi Nieto.

I don´t want to say anything before I see how it will go on, but at the moment, there´s obviously a technical gap and, as they say, the title chase is a two-way battle.
