Beattie to make four-wheeled debut this weekend

Former 500cc World Championship runner-up, Daryl Beattie, is preparing to make his four-wheeled debut in the Supercars V8 series this weekend. The Australian will take part in the Queensland 500 race driving a Holden Commodore alongside Christian D'Agostini. The only previous experience Beattie has of the car was when he completed 55 laps around the Calder Park circuit in Melbourne recently.

´I don´t have much experience with this car but you have to start somewhere,´ commented the 31 year old, who has three Grand Prix wins and 14 podiums to his name. `My objective is to learn as much as possible and hopefully finish the race. We don´t have the fastest car but I´m not worried about that because everything will be new for me and I am doing this with one eye on the future´.
