Casey Stoner back in Australia after passing his motorcycle test in England

Casey Stoner ended a long season away from home with one final objective still in focus before returning to his native Australia. The 17 year old, who contested his rookie season in the 250cc class in 2002, headed north from Valencia to Great Britain, where he stayed with close friend Chaz Davies to take his driving and motorcycle tests.

`I passed my CBT motorcycle test, which means I can ride bikes up to 125cc on the road in England,´ said the youngster, who has been blasting his 250cc Aprilia Grand Prix machine around some of the fastest tracks in the world over the past nine months. `Unfortunately I failed my driving theory exam, which meant I couldn´t take the practical test. I was a bit annoyed because I reckon I got some of the answers right that they said I got wrong, but I don´t plan to buy myself a car until next year at the earliest so it is not a major problem´. $$$

Stoner is now planning a summer of rest amongst his family, friends, and fish. `My only thoughts now are on fishing,´ he smiles. `My dad is still in Europe sorting things out for next season so I am just taking my mind off everything and enjoying the summer in Australia. I live right next to a beautiful fishing port so I will be taking my boat out and trying to catch some snappers!´.
