Gino Borsoi to embark on new project for 2003

Over the last couple of weeks since the final race of the 2002 season, meetings and negotiations have been in progress around the world. motograndprix.com spoke with experienced 125 rider Gino Borsoi, who revealed his disappointment at the past 12 months and the news that he is planning a new project in 2003.

´This season was really bad for me from start to finish,´ said the Italian, referring to a year which saw him finish in tenth place overall with just 82 points, compared to sixth place and 130 points in 2001. `I don´t need to say that my objectives were a lot higher than my achievements this year and more in line with what I had come to expect in the previous season´.

´Races never go exactly how you want, but I never expected results like this. Not only have I failed to equal my performances from 2001, on many occasions things went worse. It is a season to forget, apart from maybe the experience I have picked up ´.

With this experience now behind him, Borsoi is looking forward to his new project in 2003. ´The idea is to start a fresh venture, which would be a completely new, two rider team in 125. Negotiations are still not completely closed so I can´t be any more specific than that at the moment – not even with the name of the other rider or the machines we will be using, but I am very excited about it´.
