Next year, a new team will contest the 250cc World Championship. Under the management of Jorge Martinez Aspar, the team will field two Spanish youngsters, Joan Olivé and Héctor Faubel, who will ride kitted Aprilias.

18-year-old Olivé spent two seasons in the 125cc class within the Telefonica Movistar Junior Team. In 2002, he took 12th overall. ´Changing bikes and classes is quite a challenge for me, and I want to make the most of it´ said Olivé. ´It will be a steep learning curve, but I´m sure I can gain my place in this class´

His new team mate, Héctor Faubel, is 19-year-old and made his 250cc World Championship debut thus year. He rode an Aprilia alongside fellow Spaniard Raul Jara and finished in 23rd. ´I´m very upbeat with this new opportunity to continue in the World Championship. With the experience I gained last season, I believe I can be in the top 15´. $$$

Manager Jorge Martinez Aspar said : ´This project is a new challenge, as we want to bring young Spanish riders to the highest level : the World Championship. Faubel and Olivé are promising youngsters and I´m sure they will make the most of this challenge´.
