Matsudo hoping to wrap up Kurz deal

Alongside the dominant forces of Aprilia and Honda looking to rule the 250cc World Championship in 2003, the two ageing quarter-litre Yamaha machines which dictated the outcome of the title three years ago will be back on the grid. Kurz will once again roll out the Japanese factory bikes, with Naoki Matsudo at the helm. Matsudo is set to sign a new deal with the German team, with whom he finished tenth in the final classification last season.

`We are just finalising the details of the contract with the Kurz team for next season and I hope to complete matters as soon as possible,´ commented the 29 year old. `It is very probable that I will be riding the same bike with the same team.´

`After the final race of last season I went back to Japan. I spent the Christmas holidays there with my family and met up with some old friends. We had a bit of a party at my house and then I went fishing, although the weather was really cold. But it is my hobby and I don´t always have time to do it. Also I have started my physical training programme for next year. I am working out in the gym and am also doing some jogging and cycling. I am absolutely ready to start the new season.
