Carlos Checa ready to get back to action

Over the last few days I have spent time making the usual preparations ahead of another intense period of activity which starts next week. I have worked very hard from a physical point of view and I have also sorted out my motorhome and other stuff like that for the new season. I also had to travel to Italy to clear up a few things to do with contracts and other aspects which are part and parcel of the build up to a MotoGP World Championship season.

One piece of news that I have got is that I am going to change my helmet decoration this season. I have decided on a completely new design and I hope to have it ready for the IRTA tests at Jerez in a couple of weeks. For the time being I have been using a plain silver/grey design for the private tests.

I am really looking forward to getting back on my M1. I haven´t really tested it as much as I would have liked over the winter because of bad weather conditions which have affected us on the two occasions we have travelled down to Jerez. Our next test is scheduled for the 10th and 11th of this month at the Circuit de Catalunya, alongside all the other MotoGP Yamaha riders.

Despite the problems we have had with the rain in Jerez the preseason is not going too badly, but I think we still have a lot of work to do if we want to arrive at Suzuka in the best possible shape and take on the Hondas. I have followed the news that has come back from the HRC and Ducati tests in Sepang, but I don´t really want to make any comment about them because I think preseason is about testing things and until we are all on the same track in the same conditions, our potential cannot be compared.
