250 teams complete IRTA test in Jerez

Randy de Puniet was the fastest quarter-litre rider at the final day of IRTA tests in Jerez on Sunday, after he familiarised himself with his new factory Aprilia. Just over one-tenth of a second outside Daijiro Kato´s circuit record time from 2001, De Puniet will now be hoping that his consistency can improve, after already having demonstrated that he is one of the top 250cc riders in the championship last year. Behind De Puniet were Manuel Poggiali, Anthony West (pictured), Toni Elias and Hector Faubel.

The 250 teams now move their personnel and equipment on to the Portuguese circuit of Estoril, where the 125cc riders are currently testing, for the second IRTA test of the 2003 season which begins on Wednesday 26th February.
