Olivier Jacque fit to ride in Portugal

Olivier Jacque has confirmed that he will be fit to ride at the upcoming IRTA test in Estoril, despite cracking a shoulder blade at Jerez on Sunday. The former 250cc World Champion has endured bitter luck this preseason, crashing in an earlier test just after an operation to remove a steel plate from his wrist, before his weekend spill. The Frenchman was reported to have ruled himself out of the Portuguese fixture but appears to have had a change of heart on the advice of Doctor Costa.

`The x-ray showed up a slight crack but Doctor Costa says it is not too serious and I am confident it will hold up at Estoril,´ commented Jacque. `There is not too much damage and I don´t have so much pain so there is no reason not to ride. I got a bang on the head and can´t remember anything about the crash, but again, it is not serious. I have not had much luck so far but the wheel will turn.´
