Rossi remembers a boyhood idol

MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi has spoken of his sadness at the loss of one of his boyhood idols, Barry Sheene.

`I was lucky enough to meet him in London last year,´ said Rossi. `Then we went out for a meal together at the Australian Grand Prix. He was a very nice man – a great person as well as a great personality. I never saw him race because I was too young but everybody tells me he was extraordinarily good. He broke the boundaries of our sport, bringing colour and life to it, and he always raced with his lucky number seven. He also fought his illness with great courage. We will miss him´.
