Ducati head to Mugello for two day test

The Ducati Marlboro team continue with their intense development programme this week with two days of testing at the Mugello circuit in Italy. Fresh off the back of their double top five triumph in the opening round of the 2003 season at Suzuka last weekend, Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss have a twin objective as they look to complete set-up work on the Desmosedici.

`We had great results in Suzuka but we cannot get away from the fact that we must always work to improve the bike,´ explains Capirossi, who finished third at the SKYY VODKA Grand Prix of Japan. `The engine is incredible but the team has many new things to test. This test is very important because apart from trying things for the next race in South Africa, Mugello will be a big race for us when the series arrives there in June.´

Ducati, who opened the gates of its factory in Borgo Panigale and set up a giant screen in the auditorium for hundreds of employees and fans to view the Suzuka race, have also decided to make the test open to the public.
