The ceremony organised by Honda to celebrate the life of Daijiro Kato is set to occur on May 18

Honda have confirmed the date of their act of commemoration at the loss of their rider Daijiro Kato. The Japanese factory, that had already announced their intention to hold a open ceremony of homage for the supporters and sympathisers of their former World Champion, have now said that the proceedings will happen on May 18th their Tokyo HQ, in the Welcome Plaza area of the Honda Aoyama building.

From the 21st of April, people will be able to visit an exhibition erected in memory of Kato. The show will have a selection of photographs and some of the rider´s motorcycles, like the NSR 250 with which he won the title in 2001, the NSR 500 that he made his MotoGP debut, and the VTR1000SPW that he rode to victory in the Suzuka 8 hour with Colin Edwards in 2002. Thousands of fans have already passed through the display, where they have laid flowers and messages of condolences.
